VOP CZ signed a cooperation agreement with German company Rheinmetall for servicing and repairing Leopard 2A4 tanks.

This is a very important milestone for the military repair company, as it will gain further necessary expertise in the field of land military equipment repairs. The agreement also includes a precise timeframe for the individual steps that will bring the state-owned company closer to providing servicing for this combat equipment. The contract is expected to be signed in September and will be valid for seven years.

In the first phase, planned for autumn 2025, VOP CZ specialists will be trained in the repair of Leopard 2A4 tanks. Subsequently, service personnel will be involved in the maintenance of tanks at the Přáslavice garrison under the supervision of Rheinmetall experts. VOP CZ’s service participation will be gradually increased. The agreement also provides for the possibility of creating a mobile service group that will directly provide minor repairs and service even in locations outside the permanent garrison. The Czech Army currently has a total of 42 Leopard 2A4 tanks.

“This agreement is a very important milestone for the state-owned company, as it brings us a new type of technology that will pass through our hands. I am very pleased that Rheinmetall has chosen us, and I believe that this is another major step towards strengthening the Czech defense industry and the capacities of the Czech state,” said VOP CZ Director Ing. Vlastimil Navrátil MBA.
