This is a very important milestone for the military repair enterprise, as it will acquire additional necessary expertise in the repair of ground-based military equipment. The agreement also includes a detailed timeline for the individual steps that will bring the state-owned enterprise closer to providing maintenance services for this combat equipment. The contract is expected to be signed in September and will be valid for seven years.

In the first phase, scheduled for fall 2025, VOP CZ specialists will undergo training in the repair of Leopard 2A4 tanks. Subsequently, service personnel will participate in the maintenance of the tanks at the Přáslavice garrison under the supervision of Rheinmetall experts. VOP CZ’s service involvement will be gradually increased. The agreement also provides for the possibility of creating a mobile service team that will directly handle any minor repairs and maintenance even at deployment sites outside the permanent garrison. The Czech Army currently has a total of 42 Leopard 2A4 tanks.

“For the state-owned enterprise, this agreement is a very important milestone, as it brings us a new type of equipment that will pass through our hands. I am very pleased that Rheinmetall chose us, and I believe this is another major step toward strengthening the Czech defense industry and the capabilities of the Czech state,” said VOP CZ Director Ing. Vlastimil Navrátil, MBA.
